seriously the Wondergirls really damn chio. without the funny hairdo. lol.

mt faber race was good. haven’t done any real hill running for some time and running up faber with the slopes in the henderson area was quite refreshing. did 49 mins for the 10km race. must focus for the next race! the next major race is the SC Marathon in Dec. gonna finally do my first marathon. aiming for close to 4 hrs, must really be disciplined and focused; stick to the training programme and achieve the aim. trying to find time to run in camp ain’t easy. lol.

going back to camp tmr zzz!

New divide

i was watching Linkin Park’s new video here (which i thought was quite messy and where on earth is Mike Shinoda?) where Megan Fox came into the focus and i remembered the hoo-haa about her being a tranny. i think if it’s really true, it’ll probably be the first time in history where about more than half of the males on the planet fantasize about a tranny. haha.

life in camp is quite eventful, but nothing to blog about. (or nothing i can blog about, at least) the new 2ic’s a 2x Ironman; the probably the most interesting thing.

good night i’m off to run up mt faber in 4 hours!

‘I am concerned how an NSF is medically graded fit for combat.’

MR ONG KOK LAM: ‘The number of deaths in the armed forces recently is a cause for worry. I am concerned how a full-time national serviceman (NSF) is medically graded fit for combat or other activities. My son has a long track record of medical problems, ranging from sports injuries to skin diseases and others. His medical specialists recommended no jumping, running or sun (to avoid the heat). However, he was graded under a physical employment status (PES) of C2/L2. The NS Portal website states that an individual with PES C2/L2 can bear arms and operate in the field. My son was called up for Basic Military Training (October intake). This clearly contradicts what his medical specialists recommended. I have sent my feedback on my son’s case via the NS Portal website. The Ministry of Defence should look into the medical grading system before more incidents occur.’

seriouslyyyyyyy. this is really stupid. excuse sun? wtf is the point of living then? seriously, what a fucking fag.

besides, if you can’t be bothered to defend this country maybe you and your (rich) family can get the fuck out. My son was called up for Basic Military Training (October intake). how about every single mother’s son goes thru BMT?

what a irritating, ignorant, rich dude. how about your kid guards the underground ammo dump (no sun) and books out at 2359 to avoid the heat?

wtf LP has a new song and i found out only now?!

[youtube="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J29Bn-L0Zb0"]

I remembered black skies
The lightning all around me
I remembered each flash
As time began to blur
Like a startling sign
That fate had finally found me

And your voice was all I heard
That I get what I deserve

So give me reason
To prove me wrong
To wash this memory clean
Let the thoughts cross
The distance in your eyes
Give me reason
To fill this hole
Connect the space between
Let it fill up to reach the truth and lies
Across this new divide

There was nothing inside
The memories left abandoned
There was nowhere to hide
The ashes fell like snow
And the ground caved in
Between where we were standing

And your voice was all I heard
That I get what I deserve

So give me reason
To prove me wrong
To wash this memory clean
Let the thoughts cross
The distance in your eyes
Across this new divide

And every loss and every lie
And every truth that you deny
And each regret and each goodbye
Was a mistake too great to hide

And your voice was all I heard
But I get what I deserve

So give me reason
To prove me wrong
To wash this memory clean
Let the thoughts cross
The distance in your eyes
Give me reason
To fill this hole
Connect the space between
Let it fill up to reach the truth and lies
Across this new divide

Across this new divide

i think LP was much better last time. haha but i still love em.

and ya jj i kinda stopped blogging. cos really there’s nth to blog abt. i’ve been on course the past 2 weeks, and 8-5 stay out course and it’s really SHIOKKK (but ex thou). now i nua until i really don’t wanna go back to bedok to start work. zzz. and the thought of having to miss Sundown for combat shoot is really SIAN.

and i have a new ambition! i wanna do a trek to the Everest base camp in Nepal. the idea came when melvin mentioned some time back he wanted to go there for some mountaineering when i wanted to do some in the region. den i met my cousin who recently came back from a trek in Nepal. but it’s really gonna cost. and i have no idea how to get past my parents; they’ll flip when i tell them i wanna go Everest.

meanwhile its back to the course. and my polar foot pod has malfunctioned so i can’t tell my running mileage for now damn!

my new appointment has sort of given me more power, in a sense that as an officer i’m given the privilege to know whats happening when (since we’re the ones planning anyway) and this is a far cry from what i’ve been experiencing in my NS, even during GCC.

and thus with this knowledge, i’ve realised that i’ve now more time to plan my own stuff, etc stuff not concerning NS. in the past i’ve always dedicated more time to doing what i need to do in BMT/OCS/GCC, since not knowing what’s going to happen forces me to ensure i’m always prepared for anything to happen (this is very guardsmen-like, haha) so unknowingly, i’ve begun to dedicate more time to running, sometime i’ve forgotten about in the past year or so due to the training schedule. so now, with all the knowledge to plan my free time (including the freedom to go out and run at ECP since i work at Bedok Camp WOOHOO), i’ve gotten back into running.

so me starting running again has been quite interesting; i’ve read the book by legendary ultra-marathoner Dean Karnazes:Ultra-Marathon: Confessions of an All-Night Runner, where he tracks his running races and habits, includ his racing at the western state 100 mile endurance run (yes that is a 160km trail race, on foot) and his running 199 miles (318.4km) for charity. so i started thinking, so do i improve my running? after much thinking i think it ultimately boils down to 2 things: training and diet.

training, all i can say is i do all i can to ensure i train as hard as i can without killing myself in the process. together with my army schedule, i do all i can to provide myself with optimum training and at the same time, ensure i don’t neglect what i need to do in my army appointment.

but diet wise, i think i’m rather messed up. haha.

i’ve not eaten my veggies since young, not that i don’t like eating them. i just…. don’t. for some reason. so i’ve read up a bit on diet and nutrition and guess what? all (or most sources) point towards the fact that i should eat more veggies to improve my running.

shit!

Here you go, way too fast
Don’t slow down you’re gonna crash
You should watch, watch your step
Don’t look out, gonna break your neck

So shut, shut your mouth
‘Cause I’m not listening anyhow
I’ve had enough, enough of you
Enough to last a lifetime through

So what do you want of me
Got no words of sympathy
And if I go around with you
You know that I get messed up too
With you…

Na na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na na

Here you go, way too fast
Don’t slow down, you’re gonna crash
You don’t know what’s been going down
You’ve been running all over town

So shut, shut your mouth
‘Cause I’m not listening anyhow
I’ve had enough, enough of you
Enough to last a lifetime through

So what do you want of me
Got no cure for misery
And if I go around with you
You know that I get messed up too
With you…
With you…

Na na na na na na na na na woah
(You’re gonna crash)
Na na na na na na na na na woah
(You’re gonna crash)
Na na na na na na na na na woah (slow down)
(You’re gonna crash)
Na na na na na na na na na woah (slow down)
(You’re gonna crash)

Anyway I’ve been posted to Bravo Coy at 1 Guards. Real work hasn’t really started, I’m just happy to have time to train on my own. hopefully when I officially take over my platoon I’ll be able to manage time well, do my job well and train well at the same time. ECP being so close has to be taken advantage of :D

Ready to Strike

We are GUARDSMAN WARRIORS.
Resolute in loyalty, Steadfast in commitment.
We fight for our country, our Home and our Family.

Land warriors from Air and Sea,
Unfailing in Toughness,
Valiant in our Actions.
We destroy all foes who challenge our Mission.

We are ELITE warriors,
With Daring Initiative,
We Rule the Day,
And we Rule the Night!
Always Ready!
Ready to Strike!

So 4 weeks after I officially became an Infantry officer, my beret just changed colour again, to a khaki one. (though not officially cos it hasn’t been presented to us yet) Nonetheless, my Guards training ends for now and assuming command must take place.

But first, I’m going on 1 week of leave. :D
